iWorkPMS
How to calculate the quantity of cards needed for each production cycle?
It depends on the card type, garment style, quantity per bundle, time needed to finish one garment, etc. According to our experience, it requires around 4000 ID cards for a factory with monthly output of 100,000 pcs jeans.
What to do if workers do not scan cards or keep forgetting to scan cards?
This is a management issue. Nevertheless, if the worker does not scan cards, it means she has no output, but this will not affect the calculation of production quantity on the subsequent processes.
What if the reader on one workstation does not function? Will this affect the whole production line?
If a reader fails, worker can use readers on other work stations to scan cards, it will not affect the production line. Besides, it is simple and easy to replace the iWorkPMS card reader.
Will it affect the network cabling during workstation adjustment of one-piece flow? Is it possible to have wireless RFID card reader?
Will not affect, the iWorkPMS reader is easy to remove. As for the wireless card reader, we recommend the factory to use wired reader due to the stability of performance and data transmission, avoiding unnecessary troubles.
What if the workstation adjustments are very frequent?
The iWorkPMS reader is easy to remove and install.
How to deal with the situation if several processes start production at the same time, and then combine to one process?
One card for each process to make sure each workstation has card to scan, and keep only one card when combining processes.
Should the information like production process, bundle no. be written in the RFID card or be printed on a barcode label and stick on the card? (whether to scan the card or the barcode label on card?)
The information can be printed on normal paper and then attached to the cards, there will be a matching process between the label and the card. Workers only need to scan the RFID card, the labels on cards are mainly for visual distinguish.
Why still need to print tickets? Why cannot the information be written on RFID cards directly?
The information can be written in RFID cards directly. The labels on cards are for workers to visually check the details represented by the cards, such as production process, bundle number, color, size and other information, and also facilitate the repeat usage of cards.
Need to attach RFID card on each piece while counting finished goods?
It depends on users' requirements. If only quantity is required, no need to attach RFID card, if information like colour and size are required, then need to attach RFID card to each piece, or use manual input method.
During rework, can the data be traced back to which worker and when the job was done?
Yes.
How to know which process caused the defective item during rework calculation? How to trace the source of quality issue?
If the item is attached with RFID card, it is easy to know. If not, it will auto record the information during rework.
Is possible to set alert for max. quantity waiting to do for a production process?
Yes, whether it is bundle production or one-piece flow production, the system allows self-defined settings. You may set the checkpoints at major production processes according to the requirements, once the waiting-to-do quantity exceeds the setting, the system will alert users automatically.
If it is a long production line, will the network connection be affected?
Our network signal can support up to 100 meters distance, if your plant is bigger than this, our implementation consultant will recommend to install signal enhancer to resolve the issue.
What kind of information are recorded via RFID card scanning?
Bundle number, cutting lay, production process, style, size, quantity, production start time, and completion time.
Does the worker need to scan the staff card each time before scanning the RFID card?
Only need to scan the staff card once before starting working.
How to do the data correspondence if sudden adjustments are done to the work assignment?
The system supports on-site process adjustment.
Is it possible to trace the worker who caused the rework?
Yes.
Can it handle the process split during production?
Yes.
How to register washing process subcontracting?
Can treat the subcontracting as a production process, the system can record the out & in quantity, as well as the WIP.
If one worker handles several sewing processes at one time, how to count the time for each process?
The system provides two options: scan once for one process; scan once for finishing all processes.
How to install the system, any cabling required? Is it complicated to install and maintain the system?
The installation and cabling will be instructed by our professional implementation team, it is not complicated at all.
What kind of returns can be brought by the RFID system?
1. With RFID, it enables real-time data feedback, detects bottlenecks instantly, thus enhances productivity.
2. Estimate delivery date according to the production output and production time for each process.
3. Combine with time attendance, payroll calculation and bonus scheme.
Capability of production workers are generally lower, how to ensure they get started?
Workers only need to scan cards, it's a very simple action.
What to do if the line manager doesn't know how to use the computer? Does every on-site process adjustment need to be done on computer?
Line manager only needs to assign jobs, check the production output & process time for workers, same as his/her usual practice. Line manager may adjust the production process real-time on the RFID reader, not much computer operation is involved.
Our factory has 400 workers, do we need to buy 400 card readers?
Depends on your requirement, can install the readers on major processes needed monitoring or analysis.
Compare with other systems, any special features about iWorkPMS?
In addition to collecting information on the usual sewing, packaging, and QC, iWorkPMS also collects information on NPT, machine maintenance records. Each process only needs to scan RFID card once, the card reader comes with 4-line display, the content is more comprehensive.
Huge investment needed in RFID system?
Depending each factory's requirements on process monitoring, only major processes are needed to install card readers. For example, during one-piece flow production, simply place the card reader on the beginning work-station, main process in the mid-way, and on the QC and package stations will be ok.
Will network or server problems lead to the production stop?
The RFID reader can store data off-line.
Any addition staff needed for running the system?
Theoretically no, only a coordinator will do.
Possible to do 2nd development per customer request?
Minor modifications and report amendment can be done, but do not suggest 2nd development.
