Cloud Computing / SaaS
Why Cloud Computing / SaaS / on-demand?
SaaS is a segment of Cloud Computing, it delivers Software as a Service (on your demand), you pay for what you use according to your subscription level. By paying a fixed monthly fee, you can access to the applications and services through internet, while iGarment manages all the installation, upgrades, and maintenance. iGarment provides our on-demand customers with a low-risk, low-investment and hassle-free solution in a hosted environment.
Cloud Computing/SaaS is the antidote to many of the IT headaches associated with the traditional on-premise software model. With no software or hardware to buy, install, maintain, or upgrade, Cloud Computing eliminates maintenance tasks and allows business users to perform basic customization tasks, thus frees IT staff to focus on innovation and creating true business value. Is it secure to have the data hosted by iGarment? We are worried to have a third-party managing our information, how to secure our data not being disclosed or leaked to other parties?
With iGarment Cloud Computing / SaaS, we can get you up and running quickly. But the ease of entry does not come at the cost of security. We offer a more secure environment than having the data hosted at most own premises. Using the world-class security infrastructure, iGarment gives you peace of mind by providing security at all levels:
- User identity and machine verification.
- Multiple user authorization set up ensures that only authorized users can access data. Administrators assign data security rules that determine which users have access to which data.
- All data is encrypted in transfer, all access is governed by strict password security policies.
- iGarment commits to the highest standards in business ethics, data access is controlled by our privacy policy, which does NOT give iGarment employees or our data center partner access to your data under any circumstances.
- Strong firewall protection and monitoring facilities.
What will happen in case anything goes wrong with the data center? How to maintain the stability of the system/server, e.g., against virus? Any contingency plan?
iGarment and our data center partner have world-class redundancy facilities built into all our systems:
- Fault tolerance storage technology and back up of all data to eliminate chances of data loss.
- 24x7 constant system monitoring both by human and by computer
- 24x7 non-stop data center with humidity and air-conditioning control, powerful back up facilities, ensure the system is always up and running.
- Strong firewall setup ensures that the system operates safely.
With our state-of-the-art facilities including disaster recovery, in case one of these facilities does go down - for example, because of a natural disaster - the applications will fall over to the other site with minimal interruption.
How about data availability? Linkage problem? System down time?
Our data center is equipped with the latest power systems, sufficient amount of backup servers and leased lines, powerful backup electricity supply and other supplementary facilities. These facilities ensure the system is always up and running, and makes interruptions related to facility issues extremely unlikely. If a linkage problem or system down does happen, it will be resolved quickly to minimize the effect to your operation.
The stability of our system connection guarantees 24x7 non-stop operation, thereby allows you to access data and run your business through the internet at anytime, anywhere.
How about the system speed?
By employing the multitenant architecture of Cloud Computing/SaaS concept, iGarment achieves economy of scale which enables ongoing investment in the latest hardware, software, networking technologies including leading switches & routers, firewall technologies and so on, to ensure an extremely rapid response time and enable near real-time replication for high availability.
The line is unstable, can we run the system with our server if the line is disconnected?
As our system is operated via internet, it will not be possible to run the system if the line is disconnected. If this happens often with your company, we would suggest you to set up a contingency line as back up. If the connection problem cannot be solved, it will be better for you to purchase the system and install at your own premise.
How to do the data backup? Can we do that by ourselves?
Data backup is done everyday by the data center. If needed, we can store the backup data on a CD and give to customer upon request at cost.
